I’m going to show you how to setup chromecast in Windows 10 laptop without chromecast extension and also without android / IOS device. So that you can mirror or cast your content on your big screen. Obviously you need chromecast 1 or 2.
Make sure you plugged it into HDMI port TV and it’s powered on. It also need a Wi-Fi network. If you have a Wi-Fi router with active internet connection that’s great. Otherwise you can also create a hotspot in your mobile, just give it some name, and you need to turn the Wi-Fi hotspot on, and make sure that you go into your laptop to connect it to the same network.
Once it is done go ahead and open the Chrome browser. Make sure that you’re running the latest version. Type in address bar : chromecast.com/setup, so once you get to this page, click on SETUP YOUR CHROMECAST and you will be taken to the setup page.
At this point make sure that the chromecast is plugged-in and powered on. It will detect so as you can see detected chromecast device.
Now all I need to do is click on SET ME UP and the click accept. Now it will basically start to setting it up.
You will see this code on your TV as well, make sure that the code is the same.
Now once this step is done, just click yes, and give your chromecast any name that you would like to have. I’m giving name MYCAST and click looks good.
Make sure that you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network which is here in my case, MYFY which I created in my mobile device. It can be a Wi-Fi router as well. So once you give it your password. It will go online and it will complete the process.
It would also setup update the firmware if needed. And finally the setup will be over and as you can see it.
Is pretty much ready to cast from now on, you can cast from your laptop using Chrome browser or you can also use other devices to basically cast. You have contained on to your big-screen TV. I hope you like this tutorial
